In this series, Tim gleaned out the attractions across the state of Tennessee that best suited family visitation and then visited each one, some with his two daughters along with him, in order to get their point of view. This book, last updated in 2002 with the third edition, leads the way to amusement parks, hiking trails, zoos and aquariums, children’s museums, history museums, festivals, parks, tacky tourist stops that stockpile rubber snakes in the concessions area, and great family restaurants that add family entertainment with good vittles and amazing desserts that children of all ages will enjoy. During his cross-state adventures, Tim found a 65-foot tall Eiffel Tower, an Elvis Museum, several waterparks and of course, those great Ripley’s Believe It or Not! attractions in Gatlinburg. This volume, Tim’s last in the series, is a bit out of date by now, but the larger, more established attractions are still there and Tim’s insight into each is a valuable tool in helping to decide where to take your family. Tim has wanderlust and is curious, he has adventurous children, he loves Tennessee, and he enjoys a good drive down a blue line highway – the perfect storm for compiling and writing a fun, in-depth book on Tennessee.
